Pupils book in at new library
PUPILS celebrated the restoration of their school library at a special opening ceremony.
Mike Pringle MSP joined youngsters at Gracemount Primary School yesterday to mark the 10,000 makeover.
The school library – which was last updated in the 1960s – now has an interactive white board, new books, new furniture and has been redecorated.
It was funded with a Lottery grant secure by the Parents' Association. Headteacher Rose Islambolipoor said: "The children are thrilled with their new library, which has state of the art facilities which make it a joy to use.
"Two of our learning assistants asked if they could explore getting funding for the library and went at it with vigour.
"The biggest donation of 10,000 came from Awards for All Lottery funding.
"I couldn't be more delighted for the staff and pupils."
