Propellers stolen
THIEVES stole two 7ft spare propellers belonging to the Royal Yacht Britannia, right, it emerged today.
The bronze propellers, said to be worth 7,000 each, were taken from a warehouse at the Leith Docks in Edinburgh where the tourist attraction is moored. Police say it may have been the work of scrap metal thieves.
Inspector Steven Gibb, of Lothian and Borders Police, told the Edinburgh Evening News: "They would have required specialist lifting gear and a flatback or heavy goods truck to lift."
