Cup ban for Hibs fans facing brawl charges

TWO Hibs fans have been ordered to stay away from the Scottish Cup final after they were charged over a street brawl.

Lee Duffy, 40, and Michael Imrie, 22, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court yesterday after alleged incidents in the wake of Hibs’ quarter- final match against Ayr United.

A trial was set for later this year and they were granted bail with the special conditions that they do not enter any football ground in the UK.

Duffy, of Musselburgh, and Imrie, of Edinburgh, must also abide by the condition that they do not leave the Lothians on any day Hibs are playing.

Gerrard McCann, 45, John McGeever, 39, and Neil Ramage, 42, all of Edinburgh, were also charged with the same offence, which took place on March 10 at Glasgow Central Station and other streets in the city.

They were all released on bail on the standard conditions, leaving them free to attend the match.

All the men deny the charges against them.

One man was taken to hospital as a result of the incident.
