Primark will be The Centre of attention next spring
BUDGET fashion chain Primark says its new store will open next spring following "overwhelming" public demand to open in West Lothian.
The 70,000sq ft store is under construction at The Centre in Livingston on the site of West Lothian Council's old headquarters after a cut-price deal was agreed with owners Land Securities in February last year.
It will be one of the chain's largest Scottish stores and will span three storeys, which will bring The Centre's total retail space to more than one million square feet.
Land Securities said its deal with Primark followed "overwhelming public demand" to bring the retailer to the town.
Katherine Armstead, portfolio manager, Land Securities, said: "We place huge importance in listening our customers, and following the overwhelming public demand to bring Primark to the town we are delighted the project is developing. We are set to expand The Centre further to accommodate this new name."
