'Primani' effect hits supermarkets

SHOPPERS are transferring the so-called "Primani" phenomenon – mixing high street staples such as Primark with high-end fashion like Armani – to the supermarket, according to Sainsbury's.

It says sales of its low-cost, own-brand goods and its premium products are both growing strongly.
