Pregnant Briton home from Laos prison
A PREGNANT Briton jailed in Laos was "enormously relieved and happy" to be back in the UK yesterday.
Samantha Orobator, 20, was jailed last August for allegedly trying to smuggle 1.5lb (680g) of heroin out of Laos.
She faced the death penalty before falling pregnant in the all-female prison. Now the intervention of government officials has allowed her to return to UK to serve the rest of her sentence.
After landing at Heathrow, she was runited with her mother and taken to London's Holloway prison. "It has been an unimaginable nightmare," she said. "I would like to thank all those who were involved in my return."
