Pop album review: Amy Studt
AMY STUDT My Paper Made Men ** 19 Entertainment 19ASCOM194, £10.69
Since the full flush of the teen promise offered by her debut False Smiles five years ago, the Devon singer-songwriter has had a less than comfy ride.
This second album, with co-writers such as hit-makers Eg White and Peter Vettese, throws the right shapes but threatens to disappear in the female pop pack.
More pensive moments such as 'Furniture' or 'Here Lies More' are more assured than the takes on Fiona Apple-style angst, but the overwhelming fear is that this is all too little too late.
