Staffie dog owners take a walk to Holyrood

The Scottish Parliament was going to the dogs this morning, with Staffie lovers from around the city uniting to show support for the much maligned breed.

The dog-lovers were joined by Cabinet Secretary for Justice Kenny MacAskill MSP, and David Ewing, Centre Manager of Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home to draw attention to the “Staffies. They’re Softer Than You Think” campaign.

The Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home has 50 Staffies in their kennels looking for homes.

David Ewing said: “Any dog can be trained to be aggressive yet we know that with the right owners Staffies can make loyal and loving pets. Thousands of responsible Staffie owners will tell you they are gentle, friendly and a million miles away from the hard image they have been unfairly tarnished with.”
