The ‘Yes’ campaign launch was the hot topic of online debate on Twitter earlier today. Here is a selection of tweets about the event.

David Torrance, commentator: “Am I alone in finding Brian Cox’s rant a little bit embarrassing? And indeed counterproductive for the #yesscot campaign.”

Lesley Riddoch, columnist and broadcaster: “After #YesScot I’m left wondering why Ricky Ross, Pat Kane, Jim Kerr etc weren’t there. I suppose an embarrassment of riches maybe.”

Magnus Linklater, commentator: “What is Salmond thinking? Not one businessperson on the platform.”

Eddie Barnes, Scotsman political editor: “Dougie Maclean now. I think this launch is not going to get into the fiscal autonomy/indy debate #yesscot”

Kenny Farquharson, Scotland on Sunday deputy editor: “Have to say, Brian always comes across as if he’s playing a role. The authentic Brian Cox always seems elusive. #yesscotland”

Mark Russell, Green Party councillor: “Despite my celeb scepticism Alan Cumming was great at #yesscotland linking back to his support for Dewar and YesYes in 97. One Yes now.”

Duncan Hothersall, Scottish Labour activist: “Do love Liz Lochhead too. Quite enjoying the show, in parts. Not sure what it has to do with politics, mind. #yesscot”

Alan Cumming, actor: “I am becoming a resident of Scotland again in order to vote in 2014 @theSNP #i’mscottishandhaveanopinionnomatterwhereibide”

Iain McGill, businessman and sometimes Scottish Tory candidate: “So, does this mean @patrickharvie gets to have lunch with @joanmcalpine now? #yesscot”
