THE millionaire founder of Ryanair has become the latest high-flying business figure to warm to independence, if it could deliver massive tax cuts.

Michael O’Leary, below, said he supported the idea of a country that charged less duty on fuel, air passenger duty and charged corporations less tax.

However, he said Scotland would need to be careful before doing so, raised the example of Ireland’s economic collapse as a case of what could happen from economic mismanagement.

Alex Salmond has said he is keen on the idea of slashing corporation tax in Scotland after indepedence. The plan has won him support from such leading figures as Clyde Blowers boss Jim McColl and Stagecoach’s Sir Brian Souter.
