Bid to stimulate economy with land planning review

A REVIEW of the land planning system in Scotland has been announced in an aim to stimulate economic growth.

The Scottish Government wants to look at areas governing the way development is approached across the country, including schemes deemed of national
importance.

Planning Minister Derek Mackay said: “This Government has a clear commitment to addressing the impact on Scotland of current global economic conditions, directing all our efforts to making Scotland a more successful country by increasing sustainable
economic growth.

“A modern, effective planning system plays a vital role in this.”
