Tommy Sheridan vows to play his part in Scottish independence referendum
FORMER Scottish Socialist Party leader Tommy Sheridan, pictured, plans to play a “full part” in the pro-independence referendum campaign following his imminent release from jail.
The Scotsman has learned he intends to speak at rallies in support of independence and that he would be “happy to participate” in campaigns alongside SNP figures.
The former MSP’s pledge to return to politics comes ahead of his scheduled release at the end of this month from Castle Huntly open prison near Dundee, where the left winger is serving a three-year jail sentence for perjury.
