Study into Scots child sexual exploitation
THE Scottish Government has commissioned research to examine the scale of child sexual exploitation.
Children’s minister Aileen Campbell said the work, to be carried out by the University of Bedfordshire, should be completed in June.
Ms Campbell told MSPs about the new research after Barnardo’s Scotland submitted a petition to the Scottish Parliament.
Ms Campbell told Holyrood’s public petitions committee: “What we want to do is identify how many children are affected and really get to grips with what the research tells us and what the problem is in Scotland.”
