Steven Purcell 'on the mend' after stay in drug and alcohol rehab clinic
STEVEN Purcell, the former leader of Scotland's biggest council, has told friends he is "on the mend" after leaving a drug and alcohol addiction clinic to begin his rehabilitation with his family.

Mr Purcell, 37, who blamed "stress and exhaustion" for his decision to quit as leader of Glasgow City Council, sought treatment at a clinic in the Borders.
