Probe into poll fiasco delayed

A REPORT into Scotland's elections fiasco has been delayed.

Canadian elections expert Ron Gould, who was called in to carry out an independent review, said the volume of work in investigating what went wrong in the May 3 elections meant his findings would not be ready at the end of next month, as hoped.

Instead he now expects to publish the report in late October.

The Scottish Parliament and local council elections saw more than 180,000 spoiled ballot papers, postal votes not sent out in time and results delayed by electronic counting problems.
