Parly flowers cost £7,500

SCOTTISH Parliament bosses have spent more than £7,500 on flowers and plants in the past three years, new figures reveal.

The parliament has a contract for the supply of internal plants, planters and plant maintenance, which involves 34 visits per year and the replacement of any "failing" plants.

The plants are located in the garden lobby and various offices to supply screening for staff.

In addition to the annual contract – which cost 1,953.10 excluding VAT last year – flowers were also bought for the presiding officer's Burns supper each year and other special occasions.
