Library hosts Union debate
A DEBATE on the Union featuring some high profile names will take place at the National Library on Tuesday.
The event, featuring the likes of BBC political editor Brian Taylor and renowned politician Tam Dalyell - who posed the famous West Lothian question - will involve a number of speakers with various views on the 1707 Union.
The debate will also involve author of The Union of 1707 Paul Henderson Scott, who argues few agreements in the country's history hold such significance.
A spokesman for National Library of Scotland (NLS) said: "They will debate this historical landmark, its consequences and its significance today."
The event will begin at 7pm in the Capital at the NLS Causewayside building.
