Jim Devine let-off

FORMER Livingston MP Jim Devine has escaped having to pay an estimated £50,000 in legal aid and prosecution costs.

Three other MPs who fiddled their expenses were landed with massive bills by a judge at Southwark Crown Court, but no orders were made against Mr Devine, 58.

Mr Justice Saunders said: “He is bankrupt.”
