Inquiry launched into school sports facilities
CHILDREN'S sports facilities at school and in the community are to be examined by MSPs.
The Scottish Parliament's health and sport committee is conducting an inquiry into barriers to youngsters getting involved in sport.
It has already taken evidence from sporting stars including Rhona Martin, Liz McColgan, Shirley Robertson and Gregor Townsend on their own personal pathways into sport.
The committee is now inviting the views of all interested parties, organisations and individuals on a range of issues.
It wants to hear opinions on an array of subjects, such as the level of sport and physical activity that should be provided in schools, whether a lack of the right type of facilities in schools is compromising sports education, and how links between schools and sports clubs can be improved.
