General Election 2010: Result no shock for mortgage lenders

MORTGAGE rates should not rise significantly as a result of the uncertainty caused by the hung parliament, commentators said yesterday.

There were no reports of lenders pulling mortgage deals or raising their rates in response to the inconclusive election result, a decision Darren Cook, of Moneyfacts.co.uk, put down to the fact that the outcome had been widely predicted.
