General Election 2010: SNP fails to be wooed by Huw

UNDER pressure from the SNP over its decision to back prime ministerial debates without Alex Salmond, no less a personage than Huw Edwards was dispatched by the BBC to Edinburgh to report on the SNP's manifesto launch.

The launch got prize billing on news channels for much of the day. Was the SNP impressed? No. The party's chief executive, Peter Murrell, was yesterday donning metaphorical knuckledusters as he prepares to duff up the Beeb at a meeting next week, when he will air the party's complaints.
