General Election 2010: Language test for migrant workers
MIGRANT workers will reportedly have to pass an English language test before taking on jobs in the public sector, under measures to be unveiled in Labour's manifesto.
The move would extend testing for English language competency to cover all jobs which involve contact with the public.
At present, the requirement covers only doctors from outside Europe, police officers and teachers.
