Education role for MSP Smith
EDINBURGH West MSP Margaret Smith has been appointed the Scottish Liberal Democrat spokeswoman on education and young people in a reshuffle by new party leader Tavish Scott.
And Mike Rumbles, one of Mr Scott's rivals for the leadership, becomes chief whip. Ross Finnie, the other leadership contender, remains as health spokesman.
Ms Smith's old job as justice spokeswoman goes to Robert Brown, who was Mr Finnie's campaign manager. And Edinburgh South MSP Mike Pringle continues as deputy justice spokesman.
Borders MP Jeremy Purvis, who previously covered the education portfolio, becomes spokesman on finance and the economy. But former leader Nicol Stephen will not have any shadow brief.
