ABERDEEN South MP, Dame Anne Begg, has been reselected as the constituency’s Labour candidate for the General Election in 2015.
Dame Anne has represented the seat in the Westminster Parliament since 1997 and had a 36.53 per cent share of the vote at last election.
She said: “I am very pleased to have the unanimous backing of the local party members and I am delighted to have the opportunity to seek re-election for the fifth time. I have always worked hard on behalf of my constituents and I will continue to stand up for Aberdeen South up to 2015 and beyond.”
Charlie Kelly, the chairman of the local party, said: “We are delighted to have reselected our hard-working MP and look forward to campaigning for her re-election in 2015.”
