Battle of the Chancellors on Channel 4
THE three men vying to be the next Chancellor of the Exchequer are to take part in a live televised election debate on Channel 4.
Labour's Chancellor Alistair Darling, his Conservative shadow George Osborne and their Liberal Democrat counterpart Vince Cable will cross swords on 29 March, five days after the final Budget before the general election.
The announcement of the broadcast comes shortly after terms were agreed for three televised election debates between the leaders of the three main parties, to be hosted by the BBC, Sky and ITV.
