Police seek new lead at street-fight killing site

DETECTIVES investigating the murder of a man in a large-scale street fight returned to the scene to question passers-by yesterday.

Charles Bowman, 32, was killed in the fracas in Carmyle, Glasgow, eight days ago.

Four other men were also hurt.

Strathclyde Police visited the murder scene, in the area of Carmyle Avenue and Gardenside Avenue, exactly a week on from the killing.

They interviewed pedestrians and motorists in an attempt to turn up new leads in the case.

Det Insp Stephen Grant said: "It's possible that without even realising, someone may have seen or heard something that will be of interest to our investigation."

Police were called to the fight at about 6:10pm onSunday, 27 July.

Arriving in the street officers found five men, aged 21, 23, 32, 34 and 38, injured at the scene. They were taken to local hospitals.

Mr Bowman, of Henderson Avenue, Westburn, in neighbouring Cambuslang was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital.
