AN investigation has been launched after the body of a man was found in a lock-up garage in the west end of Glasgow.

A spokeswoman for the police said that emergency services had been called to the scene in Belmont Lane, off the city’s Great Western Road, around 5.10pm on Wednesday.

The lane, which is just yards from busy cafes and restaurants, was cordoned off as emergency services carried out further inquiries.

She said the ‘sudden death’ of the man was being treated as unexplained, and that inquiries were continuing.

A post mortem examination will be held in due course in order to establish the cause of death. The man’s age is not yet known.
