A POLICE officer has been cleared of stalking two women after finding their phone numbers on a work database.

Russell Taylor, of Police Scotland’s Fife Division, had faced a total of 11 charges at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, but was found not guilty at trial on Thursday.

The 35-year-old police officer was suspended by Police Scotland after the allegations came to light.

He is yet to return to work.

In a statement, the force said: “A report is being prepared for the Deputy Chief Constable. It would not be appropriate to comment further at this time.”
