POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a house was broken into in West Lothian.
Jewellery was stolen from the property in Nether Dechmont Cottages, Livingston, some time between 10.30am and 11.30am last Thursday.
Door-to-door inquiries have been carried out, and police are now appealing for anyone who may have been in the area and seen something suspicious to get in touch.
Constable Jamie Duthie said: “Among the jewellery taken was a watch that belonged to the homeowner’s late husband, and it is of significant sentimental value to them.”
Anyone who was in the area at that time or any traders aware of someone trying to sell the property is asked to contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131-311 3131 or Crimestoppers anonymously and in confidence on 0800 555 111.
