Mr Richardson, from Wishaw, South Lanarkshire, is said to have been returning from the music festival at Strathallan when he went missing on Monday.

Family members earlier appealed on social media for information on his disappearance and said he had been coming back by bus.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw a man wearing a grey waterproof Regatta jacket, red shorts and black work boots in the area of the A9 near Forteviot or the surrounding areas between 2.15pm on Monday and 9.15am the following day to call 101.
