Poached mussels pose health risk
A 300KG haul of illegally picked mussels has been seized by council officials who warn they could be putting people at risk.
Highland Council environmental health officers swooped after being tipped off by a phone call from a member of the public. They found the mussels at a caravan site in Annat in Lochaber.
The mussels were later returned to the sea at an undisclosed location.
