Plea for fundraisers to go extra mile for leukaemia

FUNDRAISERS are being invited to go the extra mile for Leukaemia Research.

Entries are now open for the Edinburgh Forget Me Not Walk, which takes place on Sunday, June 7. The 5km event is open to people of all ages and will boost the charity, which is dedicated to finding better treatments and cures for leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

Yvonne Dickson, regional fundraiser for Scotland at Leukaemia Research, said: "Some people take part in our Forget Me Not Walks to remember a loved one, others to enjoy some outdoor exercise and support a great charity. Every year in Scotland at least 2750 people are diagnosed with leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma."

The entry fee is 7.50 for over-16s, 5 for children aged 7-15, which covers costs and includes refreshments, T-shirt and medal. Families of two adults and two children can enter for just 20.
