Plea for better blind services
PEOPLE who are beginning to lose their sight are waiting too long for support services to kick in, a city charity has said.
The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) is to launch a campaign to improve counselling and other services.
The Lost and Found initiative will see the organisation work with health agencies in an attempt to improve the situation.
According to the charity, nearly a quarter of people who are losing their sight are not being told the name of the condition they have.
