MORE than 200 new homes would be created at the site of a former BT training centre as part of a plan to regenerate Muirhouse.
Developer Telereal plans to demolish the building on Muirhouse Avenue and replace it with around 240 new homes – with at least 25 per cent to be "affordable".
Council officials have recommended the scheme is granted outline planning permission next week.
However, residents and community groups are concerned about the height of some of the new blocks and claim they have never been consulted.
No-one from Telereal was available for comment. However, planning consultants Rapleys, agents for the company, said that the scheme would be a "positive development" for the area.
