Piper in charity busk across US
A PIPER is aiming to spend six weeks busking his way across the United States, relying on the kindness of Scots abroad and people of Scottish descent to put him up on his journey.
Rob Calder, 32, from Edinburgh, flies to New York on 9 June to begin the trip, which will finish in California.
He will wear his kilt during his travels and is planning to attract the attention of locals during the year of Homecoming Scotland celebrations.
Any money raised from the trip will be donated to charity and he will keep a blog at www.bagpipebusker.com.
