Pipe triggers airport scare
A SCIENTIST was detained at Miami Airport when screeners spotted a metal canister in his luggage that looked like a pipe bomb, prompting an evacuation, a government official said.
The FBI and Miami-Dade police were last night interviewing the 70-year-old man, the official said. No explosives had been found, he added.
FBI agent Michael Leverock said the man was a US citizen..
The airport fully reopened just after 4am yesterday.
