In pictures: The Mayan manuscripts that predict the end of the world
ONE of the last pages of a 12th-century manuscript known as the Dresden Codex, or Codex Dresdensis, is displayed at Saxon State Library in Dresden, Germany.
The manuscript is one of four ancient Mayan documents that remain in existence that together suggest modern civilisation will come to an end next month on December 21.
The documents enumerate the Mayan calendar, which will complete its 13th cycle on the aforementioned date, and many people across the globe are interpreting the calendar to mean impending global devastation.
