Pick of the Clubnights

BLACK SCIENCE

THE recently revamped Cabaret Voltaire launches another new night tomorrow when Martin Valentine (Pocket Aces) heads up room one at Black Science with deep house and disco.

While Edinburgh’s hip hop guru Nasty P keeps the beats locked down in room two, Steven Wanless will play chilled grooves in the café bar up stairs.

As Valentine is heavily influenced by Masters At Work and Junior Boys Own, expect the funkiest house grooves all night.

Cabaret Voltaire, Blair Street, tomorrow, 11pm–3am, £5/7

KARNIVAL / BAD APPLE AFTER venue-hopping for the past few months Karnival has finally found a permanent home.

To celebrate the relaunch, Karnival DJs Mike Pinkerton, Stu Todd, Oxygen Junkies, Ryzo, Robin and Michael are joined by Bad Apple DJs Craig Fraser, our very own GR Ant, Lee Mutch and Sean Whelan.

All will be playing deep grooves upstairs in the Assembly Bar after running over from their BBQ party in Bar 50, (1–7pm).

Expect to have a riotous day (and night) with upfront, cutting edge house, tech-house and techno.

Third Door, Lothian Street, Saturday, 8pm–3am, free

ILLUSION

HOT Creations Bubba and Keinmusik’s David Mayer headline the new club night launch in District on Queensferry Lane. Then Claudio and Tommy Kay switch to a harder, deeper sound while Club Mercado DJs Gregsta, Stevie Carnie and Paul Finlayson host the front room with funky, progressive house.

Limited places remain for the VIP room (comes with a free glass of champagne) with MODA DJ Alex Sonata and Pacha’s David Bernadi.

District, Queensferry Lane, Saturday, 10.30pm–3am, £8/15
