Photoblog: From curling to skirling

OLYMPIC curler Eve Muirhead, a passionate piper, launched the Piping Live! 2010 Festival in Glasgow yesterday.

Eve,19, the British women's curling skip and a regular with the Pitlochry and Blair Atholl pipe band, wants more young Scots to take up the pipes.

The week-long festival from 9-15 August culminates in the World Pipe Band Championships at Glasgow Green, considered the single most important date in the calendar for pipe bands, and attended by more than 40,000 people.
