Pentagon overturns rule on war dead
AMERICAN news organisations will be allowed to photograph the homecomings of US war dead under a new Pentagon policy. Robert Gates, the defence secretary, has decided to allow photos of flag-draped coffins at Dover air force base in Delaware if the families of the troops agree, the officials said.
The current ban was put in place in 1991 by George Bush snr, the then president.
