PD James fights for book loan payments
Crime writer and Conservative peer PD James has written to Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt defending the Public Lending Right scheme that pays authors when their books are borrowed from libraries.
Baroness James said there was "great anxiety" among writers who want the fund to be maintained. It pays 6p per loan, up to 6,600 per author.
