Passengers say fare's fair

MORE than half of train passengers believe First ScotRail's tickets are value for money, according to a new survey.

The study by rail watchdog Passenger Focus found that only 23 per cent of the 917 people interviewed were unhappy with the cost, despite recent price hikes.

The biggest complaint was toilet facilities on board trains, with 31 per cent of people saying they were dissatisfied. Fewer than one in ten travellers rated the punctuality and speed of the train as "poor".
