Passenger train in lorry collision

A TRAIN carrying 40 passengers was involved in a collision with a bin lorry on a level crossing in the Highlands yesterday.

The accident – involving the Inverness to Wick train, which also had three crew on board – happened at Dalchalm, north of Brora in Sutherland.

British Transport Police said no-one was seriously injured, although a crewman suffered a minor arm injury. The train returned to Brora station where the passengers were allowed off.
