A number of train services were disrupted today after passengers caused a disturbance on the Ayr to Edinburgh service this afternoon.

Police attended the incident at 1.11pm.

A spokeswoman for First ScotRail said that services may be delayed until around 2.15pm.

British Transport Police were unavailable for comment.

From their Twitter account, ScotRail said: “Due to passengers causing a disturbance, services between #Ayr & #Edinburgh and @NetworkRailGLC & #Lanarak may be disrupted.”
