Parkinson's research work receives big cash boost
A CITY researcher has received a major funding boost.
The Parkinson's Disease Society has awarded a senior research fellowship of nearly 380,000 to University of Edinburgh's Dr Tilo Kunath for the research to create induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells from people with Parkinson's, which will help scientists understand why it kills nerve cells.
Dr Kieran Breen of the Parkinson's Disease Society, said: "This innovative research could make a significant contribution towards the long-term goal of a cure."
