A PRIVATE collection of seven works by the Scottish Colourists could fetch more than £1 million when they go under the hammer at auction.
The collection features among its highlights Samuel Peploe’s striking Still Life, Roses and Chinese Blue, painted around 1924, which has an estimated value of £250,000 to £350,000.
Another painting featured is Peploe’s Blue & White Vase, Roses, Melon and Orange, which is estimated to fetch £150,000 to £250,000.
A third painting by the same artist, depicting the village of Crawford, in South Lanarkshire, in 1914, is expected to raise £70,000.
The works, along with four pictures by fellow Colourists FCB Cadell and Leslie Hunter, will be sold at Bonhams in George Street on April 17.
