Oz anti-Pope protesters toss condoms
ANTI-VATICAN activists took to the streets of Sydney today in a protest staged to coincide with the Pope's visit to Australia.
A crowd of more than 500 demonstrators faced off against pilgrims, shouting their distaste at papal policies as thousands of Catholic youth streamed past on their way to an address by Pope Benedict XVI.
The NoToPope coalition – some costumed as nuns, devils and priests –
shouted "The pope is wrong, put a condom on!" Some threw condoms at pilgrims.
The Pope was to join ten of thousands for World Youth Day in the Australian city, before leading a Mass for 250,000 people tomorrow.
