Osmond set for the Capital in hit musical role

JIMMY OSMOND, the youngest member of the world-renowned Osmond family, is to take the starring role of Billy Flynn in the smash-hit musical Chicago in Edinburgh later this year.

He will join Emma Barton, best known for her role as Honey Mitchell in EastEnders, who will be playing Roxie Hart in the UK national tour of the show, which comes to the Edinburgh Playhouse in May.

Jimmy, still the youngest person ever to top the singles chart, with his 1972 hit Long Haired Lover From Liverpool, accumulated six gold records, one platinum record and two gold albums during his solo career.

As part of the Osmonds, he sold more than 100 million records and shared 51 gold and platinum recordings.

He made his UK stage debut in Boogie Nights in Blackpool in 2004, and was subsequently a contestant on I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here in 2005.

He makes his West End stage debut in Grease this month.

The show is on at the Edinburgh Playhouse from May 18 to 23.
