Selective memory

Colin Hamilton either has a very short memory or a very
selective memory.

He rebukes Douglas Turner (Letters, 17 January) with the words “my comments were not based on a figure of £444m” yet in his letter of 13 January he made the misleading comment that the Scottish Government (also misleadingly represented as the SNP) “all this time had £444m tucked under the
mattress”.

Personally, I expected better from Colin Hamilton.

From earlier letters to The Scotsman he appears to be
sincere in wishing to raise the level of political debate in
Scotland.
