Scots management

Stan Grodynski (Letters 24 September) attributes the state of the Scottish economy (portrayed in rather glowing terms by the Scottish Government itself, as I quoted in my previous letter) to the “remarkable job” of the Scottish Government in mitigating the “ devastating Westminster management of the UK’s finances”.

However, since the rest of the UK, which has not had the benefit of their remarkable job, is enjoying similar, if not better, economic conditions than Scotland, should we not conclude that it is perhaps more the “terrible” management by dastardly Westminster that has created this benign state of the economy rather than any actions by the Scottish Government?
